I've just started to realize, and wonder: why am I conservative?

They say you often reflect the political views of your parents.

And the realization that will hit me later: this will hopefully/possibly be my last summer ever as a high school student. I'm busier than a squirrel in an acorn factory, but this wave of insecurity refuses to let go of me. When everyone plays I will be gone--do I pride myself in that, or pity myself for it? What does it mean to be set apart, and what does it mean to yearn to fit in?
