linger
March 8, 2009 5:57 PMI said this once to a friend. Who was I then?
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7: 7-8
you are so insightful and thoughtful in your writing sometimes we just need other people to remind us that things will be ok, something will come out of nothing, pain will become pleasure. sometimes i think that the people who take the initiative to think about their own lives have to take the fall, and reenter the pit of sin and despair in order to understand the light from the darkness. every pain, every ounce of suffering we endure in this world is not without reward. i know that i confuse myself a lot with my own thinking and figuring but sometimes it's best to listen to the heart, and listen to Jesus. everything will be ok, God lays out the plan of our lives in order to bring us closer to him; he's on our side of this battle against ourselves. "the kingdom divided cannot stand against itself" likewise, puberty does have its choosing factor in changing our thoughts and opening our susceptibility to darkness and doubt. i tell you what i have found for myself, and what others have told me: listen to your heart. the mind will always change, our feelings will always change, our knowledge will always change, but our heart will always represent our souls.
the light at the end of the tunnel flickers, but we never stop going toward it. real happiness comes when we realize we don't need the end of the tunnel to motive us forward, and we come to enjoy the journey toward heaven. faith was once described to me as walking backward. God has already laid the path, everything is for reason, our doubts and fears were thrown at us by the devil, but only we decide whether or not we let it linger in our hearts. let others not hurt us, but let us truly love them and forgive them.
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Luke 6:27-36
love is the answer; it's always been. the only thing that doesn't make sense in this world is love, and when love circulates our bodies then can we let go of fear, doubt, hate. feel the Holy Spirit; i'll be praying for you (please understand the magnitude of this act, for i rarely ever remember to pray for people...)
