Veritas Aequitas
And Shepards we shall be.
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
-The Boondock Saints
^ Go watch it. Fifth time for me. xD
Made me think about how sometimes you have to make a choice to do wrong for a greater good.... or something you think is the greater good. All morals aside, is it worth killing a few to save hundreds or even thousands? I really don't know.
Kill the mother and the child won't exist........
Comments
Did you ever see them kill any women in that movie?
No.
Men that were scum were all they touched.
I’m sure for them it would be “no women, no children”.

They didn’t kill women or children, neither did the one they call ‘The Duke’, that is why he wasn’t a bad man. Remember the ‘Ex-Don’ said to the current Italian mafia Don, ”If we ever wanted one of our own killing off, we’d contact The Duke, his only rule was, no women and no children.”
They were good men doing what all good men want to do to criminals, Justice.

I think the last comment Tansen was a quote. A addition to the mussings that he/she had written. It wasn’t a comment to the film

“Kill the mother and the child won’t exist……..” It means like kill off the Don and the rest of the Mafia won’t exist. Kill the leader and the followers die too. If you took it literally you are pretty dumb

haha. what conman said.

To say “It means like kill off the Don and the rest of the Mafia won’t exist. Kill the leader and the followers die too.”, is one of the most childish notions I’ve ever read. To postulate that such an event would cause the downfall of an entire organized crime syndicate is purely a hollywood fantasy. There is absolutely no parallel between “Kill the mother and the child won’t exist……..” and the killing an of organizational figure head to try and topple it, and to try and establish one is pure idiocy. In order to dismantle a crime syndicate , the entire upper echelon of leadership must be removed and all assets seized. In that way only, no immediate vacuum of power is created.

helen your whole theory on crime syndicates is correct to a point but jus by takin out that crime syndicates leaders and its assests doesnt mean a power vaccum will not appear. the lower ranks may try to start a new syndicate or other syndicates may jus take the territory and will then likely try and recruit the old members of the newly disbanded syndicate because of their knowledge of the area. but all in all this whole kill the mother sayin is crap it should be ” kill the mother and the unborn child wont exist”! if someone broke into my home and shot my mother i wouldnt just cease to exist! now just like when i started to write this im once again bored!!

The movie totally rocked! But wut is veritas and aequitas? Is it that poem, and by who? Or are they people?

“Aequitas Veritas” is Latin, it means “Truth Justice”.

The Boondock Saints feckin’ rock.. Connor and Murphy are the ideal man in todays society..Plus they are like totally gorgeous.. But that’s not the point..The Boondock Saints is more then just some mob war movie..It’s about Ireland and the Catholic Church..It’s about love and sacrifice..Like the part when Connor slices open his wrists with the strain of the toilet on the handcuffs all to save his brother..Now that’s love…and when they are ironing each others wounds after the fight with Il Duce and holding onto each other it’s so moving…The Boondock saints is so much more than just a bloodbath…listen to The Blood of CuChullain (The opening song)..Now that is the music of saints..That is the music of Ireland..That’s the music that keeps Connor and Murphy alive….

Helen’s comments are dumb. Overanalyze much? Like to use big words much? Love to hear yourself talk much? I’ve never read something so pompous that it made me add a comment to a discussion. Get over yourself.

helen’s not dumb. the veritas person after her is dumb. now apparently i’m dumb. hard to slam someone when you’re slamming the wrong person.
